I went fishing for Guadalupe Bass in the Guadalupe river but I just caught two rainbow trout. Where did you get your Guadalupe Bass?

Common names really are useless and here's an example. Crappie (not crappy) are Pomoxis there are White crappie (not crappy) Pomoxis annularis and Black Crappie (not crappy) Pomoxis nigromaculatus. If you call all Crappie white perch are you missing one of the species entirely but even more importantly there is already a fish with the common name White perch that is of no relation to Crappie. Morone americana has already claimed the name White Perch and I'll guess Morone americana is what was meant by the use of the name White perch above.

I've kept mosquito fish in the past, but the only native thing that I have in my tank right now is the elodia

In a half ass attempt to liven up this forum I am gonna ask what native species everyone keeps. Naturally, I'll start...

2 Pumpkinseeds
Brown Bullhead
Bluntnose minnows
Fathead minnows

Not much right now, I gotta get rid of some of this damn tropicals, in the past I have kept...

Chain pickerel
Largemouth Bass
Bluegill
Creek Chubs
Blacknose Dace
Central Stoneroller
American Flagfish
Tesselated Darter
Over time I have owned just about every native species except anything from the trout family. Currently I have two Tiger Muskies about a foot long, a Green Sunfish about 6 inches long, a fathead minnow that escaped the jaws of death, and about a dozen baby bluegills that someone recently gave me for musky food, but I didn't have the heart. The Muskies are the favorite I've ever had, but before that my fav was a couple smallmouth bass that were just a riot to have! They have a wonderful playful personality and I'd love to have them again sometime.

Yellow perch, bluegills, rock bass, northern pike(once, not again) channel cats, gars, greens, largemouth bass(very cooool) and right now i have some species of chiclids.
