I recently bought a lovely litle Flower ray.

but as you can see Lola is a bit on the skinny side...

She gobbles down bloodworm but I can't get enough down her for her to put any weight on, bare in mind I've only had her since Tuesday though.

I'ved tried... lancefish, muscles, cockles, squid, krill, brineshrimp and peeled prawns

Cheers.

Small trout worms and chopped nightcrawlers

try cut up shrimp. very nice flower later if i have time i will write down the foods it has in "freshwater stingrays a complete petowners manual" goodluck

My motoros love smelt, which they get every day and uncooked shrimp with the shell on. Also earthworms will fatten them up really quick, as will black worms.

Nice schroederi Paul :headbang2
Lobworms are the best food for bulking them up fast.
Is she eating all the other foods that you have tried? All the young flower rays I've had have been a pain in the butt to switch over to dead food.

She's eating froozen bloodworm well, but she's not taking any other dead foods yet, I have earthworms at hand but don't want to get her hooked on them.

I'ved chopped up all the foods i tried into a managible size for her but not interested.

Yeh my motoro's take anything down the greedy things.

Thanks Kody that would be great. I forgot to bring home a tray of froozen river shrimp today that was the first thing i got some retics onto i used to have after they took bloodworm.

Once you get them hooked on earthworms then its easy to switch them onto any dead foods IME Just marinade what ever you want them to eat in some chopped up worms.
Bloodworm don't provide enough nutrition & if she won't eat other foods u may hve to feed some earthworms to keep her weight up.
Out of the rays I've owned flowers have taken the longest to switch over to dead foods.

Yep, I had to give in, given her a few earthworms and she's chowed down on them, hopefully she will switch back once she's a fatty.
