What Other Filtration Should/Can I Use?

Maybe connect a Ocean Clear or something to your Wet/dry? a 300gallon wet/dry and fx5 sounds like it should be getting the job done. Are you looking into more bio or mechanical?

Sounds interesting!
Thanks.
I guess I'm looking for a little bit of both?

-Some problems with my current set up (Not sure it they're really problems or normal?).
-FX5 clogs up fast
-Filter pads in wet-dry clog up fast
-water starts to cloud
-Detritus, lots of it
I MUST do weekly maintenance, if I slack even a couple days these points get worse.
I'm not trying to get away with less maintenance, I just want the water quality to be pristine in between my weekly water changes.
Please, keep the ideas coming. :D

Sounds like your filters are just doing their job. How much do you feed, and what are you using for mechanical filtration.

Have you ever tested the water to see if the filtration is adequate?

Ammonia is always 0
But nitrates fluctuate between 10-20 ppm
I feed 1-2 times a day

For mechanical- filter pads (the black ones for pond filters) in my wet dry, and what ever is in my FX5

You don't need more filtration. Additional mechanical filtration may spread the maintenance out a little, but if your ammonia is always 0 and you're producing nitrate you're fine. Actually, it sounds like whatever you're doing is working very well!

Ok,
but if my bio load increases,
than what would be some good additional filtration?
-Fluidized filter bed
-Ocean Clear
-?

Ocean clear would work since all you need to do is connect the return pump of the wet/dry to the OC. Just make sure the gph matches. I have no idea about the fluidized bed filters.
