I have a pictus cat but to be honest the sun cats i rescued seem to be doing much better with the africans , they seem to be a tougher fish. YOu dont see them often, they are nocturnal and only come out when lights are off or at night. They can get large too. I have had mixed results with regular plecos, I had one that my africans killed (even though it was bigger than them and had been in the tank for a long time). I have one a foot long that was given to me last week, its got some shredded fins all ready. Not sure what i will do with it. Some people like to keep clown loaches for cleanup but keep in mind to quarenteen them for extended time before adding them into the tank, they are prone to ich when first brought home and being scaleless need special care if they develop it. Others i have heard like the bristle nose cats but i have heard because of their small size some frontosa have died when they think they can eat them and get them trapped in mouth/throat area.
