Alright thanks alot wiggles I think for this pond am going for a alligator gar but have to out grow my koi first lol so they don't become expensive feeders and I am building a 8x5x2 pond (indoor) this summer with silver aro andmaybe some rays I'll add a long nose tho in the mix

am actually looking for a Cuban for my buddy so if I did get one I would have to get 2 or I only could get 1 I would have to send it to him lol and for a gar that stricking deserves a species only custom gar tank

I know I do, but I said might just so a random guy doesn't tell us about his gator + koi combo.

I'm going to third the gator koi combo does not work, lost 2 koi this way.

Why do they do that? In all your opnioms what species did you enjoy keeping more the gator gar or the koi... I could do an all gar pond which would be cool

Gator gars are the most aggressive of the gar species. It is somewhat common for them to attack things even if they can't eat it. The silvery colour that many koi varieties have also makes them more likely to be attacked.

I would suggest skipping gator gars, and sticking with the smaller varieties. Less aggressive and less problems in the long run.
