Right now I have 5, and have rehomed already 15 this year. One of my rescues is being treated for a skin condition and an immune deficiency. I've had him for a year.
I love all my rescues, and they all go through my own extensive "tests", and have turned out to be great family pets.
Much is said about pit bulls, most of it isn't true. You could live in an apartment, and own a pit... as long as it gets some exercise you're good to go.
Back in the old days, they used to be called the "nanny dogs" and everyone trusted them with their children. I honestly wouldn't have any other dog with my kids. (I dont have any now, but when I do)
