i used to go on mfk and fishindex.com but that site when down so no its only mfk

aquatic preadators is pretty cool but this is were i spend most of my time when on computer

I always use MFK. I used aqualandpetsplus up untill a few months ago because although the information is great, their standards of fish-keeping is IMO poor.

On an Oscar profile, they state is NEEDS 30 gallons. Prefers more. This is why I quit. Also to spend more time on MFK and gain some real knowledge. They also state a silver aro needs 75G, but this really cramps thier style.

And my biggest hate, they tried to spawn oscars by stuffing 4 large oscars in an almost bare 55G.

They also tried to breed Buttikoferis in a 55G. They put 4 in there, 2 days later they had 2 left. The others died.

Now what type of example is this to people looking into big fish for thier first time?

Well, of all the animal websites, MFKers usually is the most helpful. It's just that it's only directed to "monster fish", so that's why I go to other websites sometimes.

I also used Tropical Fish Forums. I got banned there, then used MFK.

I remember this thread they had. Well this guy refurnished his garage to make a fish room. But the biggest tank in a garage big enough for 3 cars was a 270G!!! 9x2x2. Back then I thought that was just phenominal. I then joined MFk and found that people were often saying "Ohh, my little 240G just isnt enough for my 2 foot arowana. I think I might upgrade to 2000G."
