What pair of cichlids in a 6 ft tank ?

I'd go with festae or dovii.

As for least aggresive, your probably not going to find a passive cichlid that reaches over a foot. But from the 2 I've mentioned, the festae is less aggresive.

If you're considering SA species as well, I'd personally avoid any of the really big boys, Umbee/Azuls in a 6' tank. Dovii for centrals. Aggression will vary form fish to fish and pair to pair, but every fish listed in this thread have potential and the smaller the tank the higher the odds of it manifesting.

Festae would be my pick if you don't mind going SA, but they are more aggressive than some. Any of the Vieja/Paratheraps family could be really cool too. Most of the herbivores get pretty big and aren't too brutal during spawning, for the most part, but that can change.

I'd go with Vieja Synspilum if it were me. They are the least aggressive, most beautiful IMO and they get big.

Thanks to you i've a wide selection of species. I think Umbee, dovii ang jags are too big for my tank... What do you think about Chocolate Cichlid (temporalis)? Any advice about that specie ? Here is a picture of the tank. Hope you like it...Aquarium nu.jpg

I love SA cichlids and chocolates are a big SA that I would classify as a gentle giant. They would definitely work in your tank too. I have been wanting one of my own. Fantastic looking fish throughout all stages of growth IMO.

I'd go for Petenia splendida (red bay snook), personally. Beautiful, large cichlids, and they seem to be quite peaceful, compared to pretty much any other cichlid of similar size.
