What pleco for my 220?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Few plecos actually eat algae. Both blue and green phantoms will eat algae, but they aren't very good at it. Plecos should not be so starved to need to eat plants. My 135 planted tank has a number of plecos, and have never had a problem. Most plecos are a bad mix with bichirs as they will begin to suck on the slime coat.

Most of the big exotics won't touch algae, especially if you are actually feeding it. Basically panaque nigro. With the tank you have i'd go for a large goldie (Scobinancistrus aureatus) or any large Scobinancistrus or maybe even a pellegrini, they are really nice plecs, but not sure what you want the max size to be.

And ewurm it's Legion goddamn! lol

I would like it to be under 14" I will look up some of these options and probably have some more questions for you all. It should also get over 6" I think to be safe from the other predators.

Ill trade you my big L083 gibbiceps for that Aro  :nilly:

lol, most people would. It would take years and years and years for a L14 to get to 14".
