Hello all, I have a 75gl tank, sand substate, some drift wood, with rocks & a few make shift caves, Inhabitants are two Carpintis, two clown loachs, & two juvi Amph's
Now my question is what is a suitable pleco that does not grow too large & will clean the algae in my tank? Looking for one that will max out no more then 6" but can hold its own against semi large aggressive cichlids,

You should not buy plecos to clean algae, you should get them because you want plecos. Only a couple of plecos are any good at cleaning plecos anyhow. My 2 cents.
I'm looking for a pleco because I want one, not nessaceraly to clean my tank, I've always had common plecs that grew to large, I know certain types feed on driftwood & such, just want to know some other types that feed primary on algae & won't out grow my tank

Awesome.

What is the diet of carpintis like? I have never kept them, and might helpbin choosing a coerect pleco.
I feed them spirulina pellets, & freeze dried krill as a staple among frozen blood worms, brine shrimp & occasionally will throw in live crickets & earthworms, I try not to keep a consistent regimen, I like to mix their diet up to an extent

Also take into consideration how much you are willing to spend. Even small plecos can cost a lot.
