I had kept mine in a tank with lots of other Fish including Cichlids , like Oscars , Jag' , Black Belt Cichlid , Silver Awo' , RTGG , Common Pleco Ect . But as soon as the Red Devil hit about 7 - 8Inch i had to split it from the group as he was just picking on and bullying them all day long . The only tank mates i could put in wiith my Red Devil was 2 12Inch+ Common Pleco but they still got pick on but not as much .
what r some possible tank mates for red devils besides other red devils?

you can get a 5'' dovii, jag ,cuban, midas. industrial strength blue collar cichlids , can take abuse and bully back, basicly anything like parachromis, or other amph's
but get like two more to spread out agression so do 3 or 5 all together in that tank until they hit like a solid 7'' then move them to your big tank a 225 is good for i'd say 5 fish max with a heavy bio-load filter system and tons of hiding spots, the key is for them not to be in each others sight all day

She began killing them, but not even to eat them. I can barely keep plastic plants with her now, as she rips them apart!!! She is now 7 inches. She loves attention from me....but only me. She swims up when I feed her, and rubs against my hand in the water. She LOVES marbles....grabs them and spits them at my hand....so funny to watch. Of my four tanks, and several species, my rd definitely has the most personality!!!
with Dovii Kid. In the 55 you're not likely to be able to keep anything else. Once you get the 225 though you'll have better odds.
