What reptile for tall enclosure?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just want to make sure that I know of other reptiles before I make a decision on what to get. I like basilisks but I am sure there are many other great picks. And that is what I'm looking for.

Also for the earlier message I am very sorry if I sounded rude. I just didn't know how to respond:) Thankyou all for the help. Does anyone know if there are any dwarf monitor species?

Basilisks usually require a large pool of water for soaking, unless you can build something that can hold water not sure a screen enclosure would be the best.

Thank you that is one thing that seemed to have slipped my mind. Any ideas of what wouldn't need a large pool of water for the cage? Any more reccomendations? How could I make a pool of water for a basilisk?

You could use a cat litter pan or rubbermaid tub for a water basin. Since you have 9 square feet of floorspace, you could fit a pretty big basin in there and still have floor space for the animal.

^ agreed. I would think some Green Rough Snakes would be sick also, not to expensive, and very cool to watch. I plan on getting a trio soon.

Awesome thanks. For some odd reason today things went odd. My mom OKed the snake but my dad didnt lol. I found a rubbermaid container that looks like it might do the job I'll post some pics soon hopefully. Does anyone know what abient temperature the brown basilisk likes? Some say 70-80* and some say 80-85. They like a 90-95* basking temperature right.
