What reptiles for a 60 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tanimbars only get about 10 inches from what I hear.

And it doesnt have to be its whole life either.

But still, my bad. I went off forgetting the dimensions again! I keep thinking horizontal...

Monkey tailed skinks can get almost 3 feet, are very social, and require tons of climbing room.

Tanimbars get to be 18". Iran Jayas and Northerns are the most common and they are one of the bigger species.

The only BTS that can fit in that is a Pygmy and there is none exported out of Australia.

Keep thinking 13" or smaller though. :p

Fence lizards are pretty cool. Easy to keep and not too common in captivity. Fun to watch:)

PINK TONGUED SKINK! Hows that?

Not to mentioned, they're now protected under CITES and for all practical purposes illegal to obtain and own.

Pair of agamas?...collared lizards?...tokay geckos?...

They arent illegal to obtain and own. You can buy them CB (the way to go anyway) for about 600 and older WC animals before the ban. Im sure there is the odd smuggled specimen or imported from other countries where they are kept.

Bert Langerwerf of Agama International has a pretty big group, and I wouldnt doubt his lizard breeding skills ;)

Anyway, Tokays, good way to go. About a dozen morphs, and I hear the evil reputation is null and void when CB. Ive heard them compared to cresteds.

You may be right. But to most people, they're not the most desirable lizard (due to appearance and alleged temperment), and no one is willing to shell out that much for one. Regrettable, since they are still very interesting skinks and usually have great personalities.
