To recreate the natural habitat of my bluegill I think I would have to throw in an empty beer can.

LOL you are hilarious.

I use sand.. but again, like so many times before, i kind of regret adding it in the first place.. sand gets into filters and pumps ... its a big pain ! The only redeeming factor to me is that i get to watch my rays bury themselves and the tiger shows better color in dark sand.

im currently using playsand. i didnt find it to be a pain at all. as mentioned u do want to thouroughly clean the sand. the best way ive heard to go about cleaning it is to take a bucket full of the sand, place it into a ice chest or cooler and hose it down. alot of the loose dust will spill out with the water. u will lose quite a bit of sand but whats left will be very clean and easy to manage. hope that helps.

(WoW you are impatient... you only gave us 4 min.

Never used sand I keep all my cichlids on gravel or a bare tank. As you have found sand is a pain in the butt.

I guess you ment to thank us in advance for our help.)

Yeah, sorry about that, first time, didn't really know how this all worked, I thought it was like an automatic reply, lol.

If you click a reply button to open the reply window then click where it says "quote message in reply" it will save you from having to type it in.

I just copied and pasted it, but that is even faster, thanks. I think with a little help from you veterans I'm getting the hang of this site. Now If I could just figure out how to post a picture....
