what should i do a newbie setups

Setup a saltwater tank is expensive for equipment as start like base/live rock, sand/live sand and cycle your saltwater tank, a healthy and do it right for fresh new saltwater aquarium would take up to 6 months to get thing stable. Also, you can't just buy saltwater fish and add them in your tank same time cause the bio load spike will kill them or stress them out and disease will show up on stress fish (add 1 fish every 4 weeks). Another important thing: you must have a quarantine tank for your saltwater live stock, you don't want a carry disease one kill entire your tank and saltwater species price is not cheap especially on nice colorful corals.

I couldn't edit my last post so I just want to add 1 more thing that I just remember.
This equipment is the most expensive (depend on size and name brand). It's a Chiller, you will need it to keep your temp consistent in summer, if your water temp too high for long time then your corals gonna "melt". Anyway, saltwater reward after all afford and hard work your put on it and will become less maintain in long run compare to freshwater.

And I do agree, goldfish shouldn't live in a 10 gallon tank. Sorry. If you want to take care of your fish the best you can, do a little googling on appropriate size tanks for goldfish and start there.

I would recommend putting the goldfish in the 55 (freshwater),I would also recommend giving away that koi fish(he's the one with whiskers),and the neons can be taken outta the pen and given the ten gallon(u can add a couple more to the ten gallon if u wish)

the neons are in the pen cause the other tank is not warm enough for em(no heater on hand) and some died but the ghost shrimp are good and they will all be moved soon... the koi gold fish is going with some baby koi fish in the pond soon as well i know they get to be pretty big but im keeping them all they been around for almost a year now

Hate to break it to you but there really isn't a way to do corals cheap. Any marine setup is going to be expensive, if you're broke now even a fowlr tank would be a horrible rough start. Salt is expensive to startup even when you know what you're doing. I recognize the cheap lid on your new tank, do yourself a favor and return it now, it will leak in as little as three months. Use the money and get an ac110 for the 55 and move your goldfish over to the used 55.

the lids maby cheap but that can be replaced and the silicone looks like a really good job... this is what im sticking with and i know coral and fish aint cheap just the sand rocks and salt get pricey starting up let alone filters or w/e sumps and all that jazz u can get into but this is my start so join me and watch as it fails ...

10gallons per fish ive goggled stuffs but the 10 gal is all i can afford 30$ complete set wal-mart the 20 was like 80$ complete o.0 nty... they been fine in there ..ill move em over to a bigger tank soon koi gold fish will be going to my koi pond

yes i notice the time it takes to setup ur bio loads and bacteria takes many weeks before u can add a fish and the important of cycling the tank first i know this is no rush job im not trying to just get all going at once i cant even afford rock and sand yet nor salt so it will be awhile until then i think im going to try setup the other 55 fresh water for my fishys and figure out what i should go with on my 55 salt water i was thinking a sump i could build

10 gallons per fish is a general rule, but doesn't work at all for larger fish. (And you've already broken your rule! Ha.) By that rule you could put a jag cichlid in a 10 gallon tank. And they are like a 14-16" fish.

Goldfish are extra messy and get huge. You need to google goldfish tank sizes in particular.

i did that and i know i broke the rule but it was kind of i got me a small tank with a pleco and gold fish then my wife said hey look what i got u ...koi gold fish and a facny gold and a barb cause she thought they was cool... so i had no choice(didnt know any better as well at this time) but to throw em in im going to move em around soon..and yea i heard they are messy but my small ass tank seems to keep clean
