WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This will be my first time ever raising fry, any tips will be very helpful, my main problem right now is that My tank is heavily stocked with larger cichlids pbass arowana and some bottom feeders, so the fry will not have a chance in the tank, i was just wondering what is the best thing to do wait until the eggs hatch and siphon them out into another tank, or put a seperator in the tank, that will keep all of the other fish at bay until the fry have had proper time with their parents. I just need to know what is the best thing to do for the fry.

Also what do i feed? I dont have access to brine shrimp will crushed flake food be suffiecient or is some kind of live food needed?

For newly hatched brine shrimp you could hatch out your own, it is not hard.

Well, no one will get to see if i cant get them to survive, help me answer some of the questions listed above, or at least tel me where i can find the answers.

I wish I could help I have tried with our jags they have breed 4 times (actually bacth 5 is in the tank right now) and we've had no luck at all , I've tried keeping them in with mom and da and even taken them out , which sucks cuase I'd like to watch a couple little buggers grow up. Good luck though hope you can do it.

I don't know, never done it and the couple articles I find on them had them in species tanks.

Well I went and bought them their own 20 gallon today with a sponge filter and i even found a brine shrimp hatchery, so i think im better off than i was yesterday.
