I got rid some of my bichirs previously, but that was the time when I got tired of them and I did not have enough space. Soon or later I wanted them back, I upgraded the tank size, and move on with a more selective bichirs of my choice till now. Never gone too far with numbers.

eh, get fish you like. Keeping fish you don't like will only to you not liking your tank and neglecting it, ect.

But make sure YOU don't like and you aren't just getting rid of something because it doesn't match up to others fish online.
