Clean water with low nitrates will help his fins heal. What are your water parameters? It's possible bad water quality is the issue, and not bullying (although I wouldn't rule that out as a cause of stress as well.)

i have a 3" sen bichir in my moms 12gl. she has a few Africans see put in their after i put my bichir in the tank. the Africans are tearing the crap out of my bichir has has no pec fins left but he still eats fine. should i leave him in that tank or risk it and put him in my55 with my JD that might eat him.

How big is the JD ? is anything else in the 55 ?
that would help determin if they can be together or not .

The bichir is in my moms 12. She put all the fish in their and she's not taking
them out I had nothing to do with her tank. Her water is good. In my 55 their is
1 JD 6"
1 Texas 3"

When the Tex matures, it will most likely be your next problem fish. Get a divider or some small pvc pipes for the bichir to hide out in. Keep the water clean and the bichir should heal. Make sure that the lid and all other openings are secured because the bichir will jump out if it is harrassed by the other fish.

:iagree:
