what should I do?

I just put him in a bin and filled it with some of his tank water. also got an air hose going in there to now. now I just got to get some peas cooking

gave him some peas. i dont think he has eaten any yet, but at least they are in his new temporary home with him. I'll just refrigerate the rest and save them for tomorrow

You got some good advise. It does sound like a swim bladder issue and peas will help if he's eating. Frozen peas skinned and thawed in warm water is all you need to do. Adding Epsome salt to the water will as help. He should pull through, good luck.

is there some kind of trick I could use to get him to eat the peas? so far I haven't had any success.

Try the epsome salt if it wouln't eat the peas. 1 tbs per gallon.

sometimes people infuse their food with garlic to make it more enticing. not really sure of the exact process.

You can buy Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate) at any drugstore including Walgreens and CVS. People use it for relaxing baths.

For garlic you can get garlic powder (make sure there it's 100% garlic) and just dab a little on the peas and let them sit like that in the fridge overnight, it will soak in.
