Me and my dad switched pumps and the pump we put into the pond our ( pond filter ) cant handle. So we dont know what to use as a media holder, We cant make a plywood due to it rains here all the time. Pls help :)

Wait, excuse me for confusing myself, I am tired and it’s getting late.
So let me get this straight, your pump works but you have nothing to hold the media, am i right?

I think what he is saying is he put a new pump on, and for some reason it is pumping to fast for the media to stay put? Something along those lines anyway i guess.
And if that is the case, i think he is asking what he can make a new sump out of to hold the media? Am i right milkman?

Sry mate, I was buisy and had to type fast. ( the girl dosent like me on the comp when she is here).

Me and my dad, Switched pumps. The pump that I gave him " the one he uses in the pond now" Is pumping way to much water to fast, and its causing the water to spray everywhere and all out of the filter. So we were thinking of ways to make a bigger filter. So I decided to make a thread and ask for some help.

Is this better?

buy a 4ft fish tank and add spacers to put different media in there that should be big enough to hold the correct amount of media and also be big enough to hold the power from the pump!

if 4ft is too small buy a bigger one or failing that you can always buy a larger plastic barrel and use that !

I gave him the idea of the big barrel, But he said it would look bad. SO than I gave him another suggestion on makeing one out of concrete, and he tells me to keep thinking...

I'll ask him about the tank though thanks.

Try a 44-50 gallon plastic storage box such as the $18 one from Sterilite, that will need a 2x4 frame or it will deform from the water weight,
another option (that actually looks pretty good) is the Suncast portable deck box, 73 gallons, $58.22 at Walmart
