i have two Midevils in a 135 gallon tank they had fry like a month ago .The fry and parents are living all together just fine &the fry are all about 3/4 to 1 inch already . But the problem i have is i only have two tanks a 135 and a 55 gallon and i really don't plan on buying more tanks (been down that road before ) don't want to do that again . made it too much work and not much fun. the cost of feeding these fry and not having enough filtration for the added bio load is making me forced to do something. Also the added aggression towards me by both of the parents because they think I am gonna take or hurt their fry . makes water changes hell lol i guess I am asking what is the best course of action for me . I would love to keep the pair together as i have had the male almost a year now and i grew the female from a lil fry about 1.5 inches plus they get along great especially being as they are Amphilophus and hearing the horror stories of other pairs . Is their possibly a fish that could survive with them and eat the eggs so they don't get hatched ? if they are divided the eggs can still get fertilized right ?

1)add a pleco after removing all the fry and the pair calm down.

2) put predatory fish in the 55 and when ever they breed use the fry as feeders. That's what I do with my convicts and they spawn every two weeks or so

Any big enough not to be eaten or killed. Common plecoes always worked for me. You could also syphon out the eggs during a water change but good luck getting close enough to do it.

What are the tank dimensions and how big is the pair?

Unless you want something nice like a royal or golden nugget your best bet will be to just going to Petsmart or whatever Lfs you got and getting a common pleco
