def do not want a common they get way to big ... and have huge bio loads. i like the golden nugget . i have alot of hiding spots for the pleco in my tank now to find one ... they would def deal with the eggs though ? i have a petsmart but i will never buy fish from them if you didn't get a sick fish it would be stunted.
any other suggestions anyone ? open to more suggestions and or ideas that may have not been mentioned .

Well the bio-load comes with any pleco. Royals grow to about 16". But a sailfin might be your best bet they max around a foot. Plecoes will eat the eggs once the lights go out.

that's yours! lol how did it become blind ? yea the smaller the better when it comes to pleco's don't want a monster pleco

It was I traded him in at my Lfs for a smaller rtc cause I wanted to turn that tank to a amazon biotope. It was given to me like that. I was told that a bigger cichlid ate its eyes when it was small but as you from its belly being blind doesn't stop it from eating everything. Even toke a bit of my hand a few times.

Yes they are that's way I suggested commons cause they are so cheap and very easy to find. By the time a common outgrows that tank it might be a few years. I had a common take almost two years to out grow a 55. When I finally moved it was about 10"

Thanks being blind doesn't effect catfish much they are mostly blind even with eyes unless they have short whiskers. Throw a few small ones in there

It would take FOREVER o grow a royal to 16", and if you did, you could sell it for 10x what you paid for it. I wouldn't spend too much on whatever you buy, because I wouldn't be surprised if the pair didn't get rid of him when they spawn.
