Hey guys,
I am in the market for a 125g tank, and just wondering what a fair price would be?
Any other buying advice for a used tank?

Thanks,
Jay

just check it out thoroughly before you buy it, the trim at the top, support braces, silicone, chips/cracks - look it over reeeeeally well

price wise it really depends on your location, here i'd say anywhere from 300-500 bucks could be reasonable depending on what all it came with, id pay up to 300-350 for tank/stand/hood/lights but if it comes with filters etc i'd potentially pay more

^^ same price i was thinking. if you look around really hard you can find them for pretty cheap and in good condition.

Thanks guys,
I am not worried about the extras, like the stand (I plan on building one) lights etc. Just the tank itself.

I payed $250 for 150g with lights and glass canopy in MD.

I got my 120 for $125. It was predrilled with two nice bulkheads and all the plumbing. probably $700 new. You just gotta keep an eye on craigslist.

I agree with the $1/gallon baseline for glass only. Of course it can fluctuate greatly based on quality.

I paid $150 for my 90 corner-flo (with plumbing) from Craigslist, but it was brand new and still in the factory cardboard trim and plastic wrap from Perfecto.

I sold a 150 for $350, but it had a stand, glass lids, and canopy.

A lot of the price variation depends on the area too. I am not sure what it is like in your region.

I've gotten them for as low as 50 bucks. My best advice is this... DO NOT GET IMPATIENT!!!

EBay is an amazing place. You'll see a 50 gallon tank go for 200$ one week, and a 200 Gallon go for 50$ the next... stay patient and a deal will find you.
