Remember to take off the tail off the shrimp, as rally will tell you.

Yes. ^^this^^

I feed my big aro shrimp, smelt, beefheart, pellets, and earthworms mainly. Most of his diet is shrimp and smelt, I feed the others occasionally. Mice aren't necessary as you can get the same or better nutrition out of other foods on the list. Mice can make a mess too.

were can i get shrimp and what kind. what kind of beefhearts and what type of pellets? also he is in my 120 tank. he has alot of room. 48"x24"x25"

shrimp (raw, head and tail off) can be purchased at the super market, and you can get beef heart at the butcher.

I like feeding frozen (thawed) smelt because it's cheap (and pretty good for them). smelt can be purchased at the super market as well.

smelt is cheapest way to go. market prawn is the next best thing IMO.

be careful.... get your flame suit on... 30" aro in a 120 is asking for it ;)

Sounds like a nice fish. How about a pic?

In addition to the foods listed above, you could add live crickets, super/mealworms, frogs and shrimp. IMHO live food is better as it's more nutritious and natural..

FWIW
