If you don't like that idea get a bunch of guppies and watch them multiply.

Yeah i like the puffers but they need brackish water. I was at my LFS today looking at their figure 8 puffers, make me want to go brackish in the ten I have laying around. Yeah my mom is the same way after I had her hand feed my oscar. but she deals with the tanks. The funny thing is she started me off in this hobby. But hey they are going with me to get a 55 this weekend. can't complain much

if you cant get a bigger tank and want to breed cons get a divider so the female can fit through and get away from the male. And be ready to do a couple of water changes a week to keep ideal water quality.

Get some dwarf puffers. They're 100% freshwater.
