What should I stock in a my 29 gal?

I say 5 or 6 Botia Kobutai Loaches & school of Tiger Barbs. What kind of water comes from your tap? Life will be much easier if your fish like water that is close to the tap. For example, if you have high pH hard water, then go with Cichlids. If you have nice soft acid water, then go with Loaches & Barbs.

That's far too general a statement. Sure many Africans and some CA cichlids prefer hard water, but African riverine cichlids and Amazonian cichlids prefer very soft, acidic water.
