what should my friend do with his tank

One of my friends just got a 150 gallon tank (6ft) he knows nothing about fish, the tank was a steal. So what should he do. He originally wanted to do a stingray but I talked him out of it. What should he do, I can help with africans but that is about it. What would yall advice to do for a first time tank. Filtration will most likely be a FX5.

Personally not a fan of Africans but they sure do make a great beginner fish

Try some cheap $1 giant danios and $1 australian rainbowfish.
And when he gets the hang of fishkeeping, wants to upgrade to predatory fish, he can throw the new fish right in. Tasty treats swim about!

Good idea,just don't let him put fake corals and other salt water decor like they do with some African cichlid displays I have seen in some stores.

I also would say Africans first if you can keep them for 8 months healthy then look into fish that require more Experience.

I started with African mbuna and then worked my way to the other lakes, could do a really nice Tang community.

Tell him to do some research one several species of fish and how to care for them, then let him go from there.
