I am having trouble finding a silicone to use for resealing my 300 gal tank. It seems the newbies go with that consumer grade GE window and door 1 stuff, but I want an industrial grade. I have read in multiple forums that GE RTV108 is really good, but it is sort of hard to find for a good price with no crazy shipping charges. On top of that, when I do find a site selling it for a reasonable price, it gives barely any description, so I don't know if it is translucent. Is the RTV108 translucent no matter what? Maybe you guys have some other suggestions on silicones to use.

Dow Corning 795 is considered the gold standard for public aquarium window installations. It works great for a small applications as well.

If you look around you should be able to purchase it for around $6 per cartridge.
