WHat size tank to breed mollies?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I told the lady at petsmart that I wanted a dozen mollies.
She asked what size tank I had.. ( made me laugh but I guess it's a legit question)

I said pick one ( we have 7 in the house now with the mollies) and 5 more out side.

Then told her I was going to breed them in their own tank.
and put one or two in with the Gar.

She told me couldn't do that per petsmart policy.
Told I didn't really care I was breeding them for feeders. She freaked out.

Refused to sell them to me so I made a scene and told her to call the manager.

He suggested the 12 cent goldfish feeders.

I told him to look at how cloudy the water was and how many were dead. And I would be back tomorrow to buy feeders if he would put them in with the Oscars. and if the Oscars were alive when I came back in I'd buy the feeders.

SO give me the mollies NOW, THANK YOU.
He did and she was pissed.

Like I said long story short. I was hassled on getting the Mollies. But got them in the end.

Besides I never buy feeders from a big chain. I either catch WC minnows in a trap.
buy them from a bait store that I never had problems with or a LFS that I never had a problem with.
ANd this tank here with the Dats is reason enough to start breeding my own.

Nope, I had already had a pretty bad day at work and wasn't in the mood to deal with some tree hugg'n hippie that wants to save the planet 1 mollie at a time.
I pretty much embarrassed them by speaking loudly but politely about how sickly their feeders were.

I bet 3 minutes after I left there wasn't a dead feeder in their tank, they were probably working on getting the white cloud water out too.

I still think that's better then what most people would have done but hey at least you got them instead of the o'so familiar white water minnows and goldfish
