what size tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ive heard that jars and asians generally max out at 2 feet.
you should get the biggest tank you can afford.
silvers will last in the 6 by 2 by 2 for a few years.
but will outgrow it eventually.

I am hoping that my 6'x2'x28"high tank will be good for life for my Jardini as I have no more room for a larger tank. He is also alone in the tank

Good thread. Don't wanna jack but I almost have the same question.
I have a 60x24x30 tank waiting patiently in the garage for the stand
to be done :naughty:

Will I be ok to keep a jar in it by himself dor life? It was intended for
a school of O's but I gotta crush on the aros.

IMHO from how i see fish kept here a Jar would be OK in a 6x2x2.
I'm not disrespecting any poster on here and there are some experts, but tank size is a matter of opinion, as long as you're not talking silly small. If the fish can swim and turn without trouble it's OK IMHO. I see fish kept here in tanks way too small, but 6x2x2 should be ok for a Jardini.
Even the Asian arow dealers here were telling me 60inx30.26tall for life.
Now i know they're salesmen but they're also good at keeping Asian arows, and you can argue with that.

Thanks.. When the time is right, I'll giive it a shot.

i think a 6x2x2 will work for a jardini. definately not for a silver arowana though
