What Species Are Bred in Captivity?

I'm mostly interested in prehistoric fish (e.g. lungfish, bichirs, gars, etc.), larger catfish, and piranhas.

I recently got a SA Lungfish that was captive bred. Usually small Lungfish tend to be captive bred from what I have seen, but not always a guarantee. As for Bichirs most upper jaws are captive bred. Lower jaw species are mostly wild caught except for Endlicheri, but it can vary heavily. I have seen P. Delhezi as both wild caught and captive bred on various online websites for example. But my P. Delhezi is captive bred, so I would say ask wherever you wanna buy it from, and ideally specify a species you like. Also a general rule of thumb, larger fish tend to be wild caught and smaller ones captive bred, not definitive but I have seen this quite a lot.

Walking catfish would be a good addition for a monster tank, that re fun to watch , especially when feeding

LFS, I have only ever seen this species once, but they also have African Lungfish usually. SALs tend to be rare both in stores and online
