It's an Ariidae, a sea catfish, one of many, such as Columbian shark catfish, hardhead catfish, etc... apparently this one is from PNG, is all. Perhaps Dave's right. (I've not looked.) Why is there a disrespect possible? What's your challenge of Rod's ID?

Oh none just wanted too be 100% certain of its species and because I googled its name and I couldn’t find anything about it so I became a little skeptical. Also now that makes sense of why it looked similar too a columbian shark. I wonder if their is exactly/or similar too that of a columbian shark.

Problem is that if you wanted to purchase one you would need to know the scientific name as neoarious berneyi grows to 15” whereas Carlarius Parkii grows more like 3ft.
Although I actually think these might be Neoarius Graefeii
I acutally did want too purchase one. I was going too buy it and put it in my friends tank meanwhile I get my newer aquarium but if it grows too 3 feet and more importantly saltwater than I’m not going too even consider buying it too. Too bad its may be a saltwater catfish because its body shape are whag I like about it.

Their similarity is that they belong to the same family of sea catfishes. As usual, there are genera and species. Columbian shark catfish is in a different genus. But the Ariidae family is remarkable in the way that all, or almost all, or a vast majority of members have similar body proportions, recognizable as from that family.

That rings a bell, Vincent!!! Haha... Haven't you used to keep a large school and maybe still do?

Yes, found it. From 2018. Post #430 in your thread. Of course, as I thought, the ID is of Dr. H. H. Ng, not mine. I am not proficient, nor interested much in sea catfish: https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/my-catfish-collection.663971/page-43#post-7916064

This ID thread on allegedly the same Papua catfish as yours are would be of interest to you. If your and Ben Amiidae's cats are the same, Dr. Heok Hee Ng says they are not what you thought / stated. Not even the same genus: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=46258#p311789

They are Sciades (or Neoarius, depending on who you choose to follow) leptaspis.

I'm sure you'd know better. This guy goes by Neoarius leptaspis in FishBase http://www.fishbase.org/summary/Neoarius-leptaspis.html
...which says 2' is a max. Is that your experience/knowledge too?

Can't help much. You may choose to ask the first and the last posters in this thread: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=32715

I think your fish is the same or similar to Arius graeffei a.k.a. Australian Shark Catfish, Blue Catfish, Lesser Salmon Catfish. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=22
