what species of sev is this?

The colors in that pic are so doctored up. Look how red his arms are. Not an accurate photo IMO. It still is impressive though.

Where did that particular picture come from? It has some non-severum characteristics about it, though the face does look very much like Heros. Interesting fish!

i forgot where i got this picture from.

Not to be overly skeptical but those are practically the only two pics I could find online, and there's next to no information on them...

do you think is mix/crossbreeds?

I agree there is not really any info on these fish if it is in fact a differant Sp. from the Rot. I read on some fourm that the Heros sp. Curare are not yet being exported and are rarely ever seen in the Aquarium trade.

I personaly think that it is a Rot from a differant area then the normals ones. There for it looks a bit differant. You know how fish of the same Sp. collected from differant areas look the same yet a little differant?

But is it the only specimen of this severum every collected? It has the same large, semi-deformed body shape in both pictures (notice how the back is arched but the stomach is flat, giving the fish a hunchback shape).

I'm wondering if it was some natural oddity that survived to adulthood and a fisherman just happened to snag it.
