NEW YORK
Hey guys just heard that we are redoing the basement and the result for me will be positive, I can get two tanks, I was thinking a 30gal for chiclids and a 55 gal, the 55 gal I was thinking either large fish, like arowana, oscar, shark etc. Or a heavily planted really nice tropical tank with lots of schools of small tropical fish. Tell me if you think the tank sizes are good and what fish I should get, the basement with be done by the earliest November and by the latest January, so no rush.

Thanks in advance.

a 55 would be a little small for an arowana if your planning to keep it as its permanent tank. I would recommend schooling cichlids like frontosas and you can make profit from their fry as well

ill get a single 150 g and put a nice arowana jardini in it, its kind of my dream, i can afford it but my dad is just stupid

jardinis look beautiful as they get older and their face looks more monster too. you should just buy one and sneek it in your tank haha

For the 30g I would do a couple male cichlids, but caves and plants so they wouldn't fight. The 55 gallon is small for an Oscar, and way too small for an Aro. You can do a planted tank if you have the right lighting system, and add alot of neon tetras, a betta or two, or other small colorful peaceful fishes.

Do a couple of planted tanks with small schooling fish and possibly sand. I t would look awesome. The fish you are talking about need a much bigger tank at least a 100 or so.

Alright, I think I have a verdict, I'm going to get a 30g and a 55g, maybe a 20g(for FRY) wouldn't be used all the time. The 30g is for male and female chichlids, I'm thinking something like 8-10 chichlids, give or take. The 55g will have many schools of tropical fish, planted and driftwood.

you can get two tanks mmm..... if i were you i would get a 400 gallon and would be a south amarican tank sting rays and angels, neons stuff from south amarica.

then a 200 gallon to play with and see if you can get a few like 5 65 gallons so when you get new fish and its sick you don't lose every thing. no gravel or plants
