What stones are best?

Piranha are extremely messy eaters. If u use stones for decoration left over food will certainly get trapped and ruin ur water quality fast!!!

if you hoover the gravel enough when changing the water and make sure no food is left uneaten (which should be done no matter what substrate you have) then having gravel with piranha will be no problem.
as you can see i kept caribe piraya and reds for many years on this substrate.

can you find red flint gravel from your pet store? By me its cheap and dark and natural looking. I ussually prefer the smaller grade gravel because less food gets caught in there and IMO it looks better
