what tank decor looks better? (comparison pictures inside)

the rock, the 1st one

though i'd stack it in a bit more of a natural way but between the two the first is better for sure

I was trying to maximize the space between the rocks for water flow and territory spaces. Right now I'm trying a lot of different things before I buy more rock to replace what I've removed. I was thinking of getting some large driftwood branches and turning them upside down to look like tree roots. Do you think that could work with rocks?

driftwood might lower the ph of your water and darken it, it depends on the piece of wood i think. Tree roots are not exactly a typical component of the malawi biotope, either, although I usually like the look of driftwood in a tank. Try it if you want to, i say.
