What temps are you running?

This site helps me every day... My bigger bass have been in 86-88 from when they were 3 inches til now (they are about 10 inches). I just went to my office & fed them in my new 300 & changed the temp setting from 86 to 82... I'll see how they do at a lower temp... All my smaller grow outs & babies are in 86-88.

i have my tank is 85-86, they are very active and when i do waterchanges which is usually a tad cooler (like as if it is raining in the wild) i find they just go hide under my filter intake till water get up to par temp... but once they reach 10"+ im going to drop my tmp to 80-81 like my other tanks...

higher temps ive beent old will make there metabilsim works faster which there more hungry and will eat more in a result to grow faster as well, but also comes with more aggression as well, mine are pretty tame at 85ish deg towards other in the tank mind they do have there times lol

QUOTE=wheatgerm;6357161]Agreed. I run a little cooler that you guys up until 7" they are at 86° up to 12" they are 80-82, 12+ I run at 79-80 but wouldn't mind dropping it down a few more degrees if I wouldn't run into issues. Less evaporation and less on the electric bill.

Bassguy, did you notice ANYTHING different with lower temps? Body color, less appetite, anything to be worried about?

Less activity, less aggression, but they seemed heathy and happy. I normally keep my big tanks from 79-80 in the winter, but wanted to try it for a part of winter, I think the seasonal change is kinda good on them, even though I haven't done it since.
