What the best bigger fish to start with I be using a pool pond

It's not the number of gallons. I could have a tank that's 100 miles long but only 12 inches wide and 12 inches high. That's well over several thousand gallons but anything bigger then about 3 inches wouldn't be able to go in there. What I'm trying to say is the foot print is what's important. The red tail catfish can grow upto 4 feet in the home aquarium and commonly hits 2 foot in their first year of life. World record was just over 5 foot from the wild. See the problem?

That would be a good pond for pacu, aros if you can put a net over it, smaller amazon cats. All easy first monster fish imo
Are you located in a warm climate that the pool will be warm enough year round, would be the first question?
Do you have filtration, bio load figured out for the size of pool/pond?
Do you have grow out tanks or are you planning to stick with small monsters? Some of the possible inhabitants may have different growth rates which could be an issue if not introduced at proper times.
This sounds like a cool project and I am kind of jealous tbh. I live in Canada don’t think this could ever be an option for me. Lol
