Got me kind of worried now. I just picked up a tig yesterday and put it in the tank with my shovelnose that are an inch or 2 bigger than him. Keeping a close eye on this situation now.
 
It's unusual imo but not impossible. Pseudopims are ambush predators quite capable of digesting prey gradually - swallow some length, digest it, swallow more, digest, repeat. It need not to fit in their mouth lengthwise at all, only girthwise.

I don't think we can offer an opinion on survival worthy of anything without good visual.
