What the heck are these?

Had one of these guys for about 8 yrs in full fresh...it was around 14" and loved freeze dried mysis cubes. They seem tough but can be kept with small fish as they are filter feeders. This doesnt mean they wont eat tho mine grew to 12" in the first year.
