So I got my big boy a parrot to keep him company, with breeding a fun possibility but I wasnt really counting on it because my flowerhorn doesnt have a track record for breeding. Furthermore Im not sure the parrot is female, and if she is, she is a 6th of his size if not smaller. But theyve bonded up as friends and he doesnt chase her anymore, even when she beats him to the bloodworms.
So the last few days Ive been hearing noises as they sift the gravel, thats prettuy much all they do. They do it all over the place but they favor one corner of the tank. It really looks like theyre trying to clear a spot to lay eggs, but it all seems so unlikely. I snapped a couple pics, but I cant catch them in the act because they stop when I approach with the camera. Could they be getting ready to mate?
