Ok tank looked a little Cloudy so I figured I'd test the water.....no amonia, no nitrate, no nitrite, so I did a water change 30%. Filled back up used some prime and cycle....instantly fish loss, gasping for air, acting very erratic floating up side down....never seen this in 20 years of keeping fish have no idea what to do? Oh and temp was exactly 82 deg

Oh 220 gallon,two air stones, two fx5, 1 403 fluval, two power heads, two 250 watt heaters,12 clowns from 10 to 4 " 2 rays 6-7 " 3 picts cats and five 6" go hast knifes and for red head tapajo's that's it in a nut she'll.

I would definitely bucket the fish in some bottle drinking water...maybe add a little salt...then check your tap....somthing is up.
If it were my fish, they would be out of that tank ASAP.....Home Depot, 20g containers, and all the bottled water I could get from the store......and then a major tap water investigation, but priority goes to the fish first....

this is strange, 20 years fish keeping not questioning you. spooks as when this may happen to me. makes me think harder on a roe system.

Ok guys get this fish are back to normal and just ate some red worms even the ones floating up side down? Check all water parameters I could with super hagen test kit can find anything at all in the water? Still hazy. In the spring when there's run off I see changes to the water but never this late in fall I even run a temp gadge on water as it enters tank. Really baffling that a water change( which I do 2-3 tomes a week) could stress fish to that point.. ...

Calgary water is pretty high quality, doubtful that's the issue, but certainly a possibility if there has been any water main repairs etc in your area. Prime should be no issue, even if an old bottle, but Hagen Cycle I would question as IMO it's pretty much bottled crapola. Not saying that was the issue, but by chance was it a new container of Cycle, or have you used it already with no issues?

It's about 4-5 months old 1 liter jug. Just never seen it like this, on an established tank. on a new tank ya seen it alot... like I mean never seen this before and dad started breeding angels in the late 70's
