If somebody has one of those in the home aquarium I would like to see it. It looks like it could take your arm off!

Right on! How about cleaning it's tank?

So it's from Africa...cool. How big can they get? I'm assuming this one's an adult. Anyone keeping one or anything close? Would love to see that set up :headbang2

hit the seach button fellas. These are nothing new and many fish keepers own them and other African Tiger Fish. Even the smaller ones get to roughly 3 feet and the goliath is said to reach 5 feet long. They are beasts and very capable pursuit predators.

I'm not sure about the seach button, but I searched and found some people with smaller or not full grown ones. I would think you would need one huge tank for a 5' specimen. Nor did I think it was some new fish to the world.

damn and i thought getting bit by an alligator gar was bad but that things like fresh water jaws

AWESOME fish. Its one of the fish on my "wish list." Be advised from what I've read/heard they need REALLY big tanks (I'm talking 1000 gallons plus). Not only because of thier size...apparently they are extremly nervous and need tons of swimming space. If kept in too small a tank they apparently are known for killing themselves by swimming full speed (and that's pretty freaking fast...look at the caudal fin!) into the glass or jumping out of the tank. But yes...someday when I have a GIANT tank I WILL own a few! Can't think of many fish more menacing looking!
