Bacteria bloom caused by removing to much bacteria, happened to me once but i cleaned to much of the substrate! you gotta be quite carefull. try putting your old filter pad into your new filter to get the bacteria seeded quicker, if not just dose with bacteria and change water alot. make sure you you detoxify the ammonia and nitrites with something like prime!
