I think I saw a chimple on my blue diamond :irked: attached is a close shot picture taken today. tell me that my mind is only playing tricks on me.
the 6.5" black diamond in a 75g with prefect chin and a 6" blue diamond in a 4'x4' 180g develops a chimple....I don't understand.
I can only think of two explanations, one is that the blue diamond is much much more active than the black diamond. second is that the blue diamond is recently imported and it still hasn't got used to switch from a gigantic river into a tinny little fish tank, while the black diamond could've been in captivity for while and knows what not to do.
ahhhhh, I'm so pissed :irked::irked::irked::irked:

so what can I do to help it heal faster? I know adding aquarium salt and more frequent water change would help. is there anything else I can do? other than getting a bigger tank of course.

dood...you're tripping. I see no chimple on that fish...

I hope you are correct and I am indeed tripping, but I seriously think a chimple is developing. it's driving me crazy....:banhim::banhim:

Here are two pics for comparison, top pic I took on the 9th. you can see the chin is more rounded. bottom is the one I just took today and you can see the chin is more pointed towards the bottom.

that could just be normal growth. I don't see any signs of abrasion on that jaw. Maybe I don't know what to look for on a fish, but I don't see anything abnormal.

I think it might just started to develop and that's why you don't see any signs of abrasion, or could simply be from the angle of the picture you do not see it.

I'll just keep my eye on it and do more water change and add some salt in, just in case.

you know now that I look closer:

It looks like there may be a depression in the scales right here.

you think he might be stressed?

the only stress I think he's having is that he can't kill that damn oscar.
what you saw is probably just from the pic. I'll also take a better look tomorrow.

here's a pic I took on the 17th, where you can see both side of the lower jaws are fine and there's the developing chimple...ahhh damn it~!!:irked:
