I hope I'm just seeing things but check out what I marked out in red.

First pic, the upper red line shows where the jaw line used to be (more rounded) and the lower red line is the current jaw line. what's in between could be the evil chimple. :banher:

second pic, you can see there's something in the red circle, looks like some kind of abrasion...ahhh that evil chimple :banher::banher::banher:

Yeah it could be but it also might remain just like it is without growing...

is he frequenly rubbing against the tank glass?.

I'm not home most of the time but when I am home I rarely see him rubbing his chin against the tank glass. the only thing I can think of is maybe he rub the chin against drift or gravel or glass when he's doing his daily exercise...chasing those convicts.

other than adding salt and keep the water parameters good, what else can I do to help him heal faster? bump up the temperature to 82deg F maybe..??

bumping up the temp might speed up the anabolic part of his metabolism. That could make him heal faster. Might prevent secondary infection too. I think the best thing you could do is get that oscar out of there. Might be stressing him. Drop it in the 75g and the BDR have a swing at him.

yea will bump up the temperature when I go home today.

not sure if the oscar is really stressing him cuz everyday when I go home the oscar always got pinned to the back of the tank hiding.
dropping it in the 75g could be a good idea. the BDR hasn't had any live kill for a long time, it's time to give him some excitement :)

If the rhom has intimidated the osacar it doesnt mean the rhom itself isnt under stress also, the sole presence of other fish can lead him to stress... unless rhom kill that other fish.... So a live kill could help him to stress out....:grinno:

either my rhom is getting mellow or the oscar is really able to stand his own ground. maybe I should stop feeding him for few days then I might find the oscar dead. I've been feeding him fish once every day, sometimes twice so he probably didn't have the need to kill that oscar.

should I let the blue to finish the job or give black the chance?

I have decied to let the black diamond a chance to let out some steam as I found out that the oscar gave one way ticket to 5 of the 6 otos I put into the tank yesterday....only one left...damn that fish.

Well some guys advice you feed piranha with cichlids but I assume that oscar is big so if the rhom charges against him it aint gonna be pretty man, that oscar is going to be torn apart slowly and painfully due to its probably big size....

Just put him in another tank...:irked:
