Maybe go for a severum. They're gentle and colorful and what's more for a cichlid it's quite not that aggressive, sometimes not even aggresive at all (depends on the fish really), but most like any cichlids when on breeding process It'll bully others ofcourse.

I've had this one for some time now from a little guy. He's been doing good alone, Nd he hasn't seem to grow past 4 inch maybe 5, he was in a 55g.
