I agree filter first. Carful w/ that fx5 in your 55, may make a whirl pool lol.Just turn down the pressure w/ the valves some.Should be good.

That will be nice getting your bb started early for your new tank.

Same answer from the guys one above, get a filter first so it can be already colonized with bacteria on your old tank with fish then you have already a running and ready filter for the new tank.
