My water seems to stay cloudy. Not bad, just a light haze. I put some water clear in it and the next day it will be crystal clear. That lasts a day or two and then it's right back to being hazy. It's a 75g, I have gravel substrate and 2 emperor 400's filtering it. Any suggestions?

PH 7, Amonia 0, Nitrate and Nitrite both 0, 78 degrees F. I have Around 50 fish in it from neon tetras being the smallest to a 3" rosy barb being the biggest. Feeding once a day, in the morning. Only enough that they finish it all in 2-3 minutes. Lighting is 1 48" florescent bulb.
Am i leaving anything out?

Explain your water change schedule and what you do for it...

Jimmy

This is a new set up. I have only had had fish in it about a month. I have change the water once since then and that was last week. About 5 days ago. I changed 25% b/c the NO3 got a little high. Changed the water and the next day it was back at 0. I haven't come up with a schedule yet. When I changed it I just drained it down to 75% and refilled it using a hose from a faucet. I have well water so no chlorine and it tests ok for everything. It's just a little soft.

Yes, I am using flakes. What alternative would you suggest? I use the omega one true color to keep them colorful. My friend has cichlids and they all started to lose thier color b/c of the food he was using so I'd like to keep using something that will enhance color. As far as algae eater, i have 2 cori cats, 2 pecos, and six snails about as big around as a nickel. I certainly don't have a problem adding Algae eaters as well if that will help.

Bacteria bloom, your tank is starting to cycle. Do WEEKLY 25% water changes and only vacuum small sections of gravel at a time.

Jimmy

Will I need to do that weekly for the life of the tank? Or is that a temporary necessity?
