What to do about cloudy water

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sounds like a bacterial bloom. either your tank was not properly cycled or you dont have adequate filtration.

did you add all of your fish at once or over a very short period of time?

i agree, and it sounds like it is doing a mini cycle now, 25 t0 30 per cent w/c every three or four days until it clears up than go to once a week.

Yes, over a very short period of time. Probably 50 over a month.

Whats all the fish in there besides the cories and plecos?

I have at least 20 species in that tank maybe more. Some I don't even remember what they are. Just to name a few Long fin Rosey Barb, 2 blue rams 1 common the other long fin. Several tetras, neon, sarpae, black skirt, red phantom, red eye ect. 3 or 4 different types of gourmi, clown pleco, common pleco, long fin fancy mollies, a pair of sail fin mollies, tiger barbs, albino tiger barbs, 2 angel fish ect. We plan to transfer those angels and some of those gourmis when they "out grow" our tank. We plan to keep everything in that tank 4" max.
Sounds like a lot, but it still seems empty to me although I do not plan to add any fish being mindful that most are still growing and will soon take more space.

Thank you all for the advice. I will start doing the water changes and take your advice.
